It is among the&nbsp;<a title=\"Star cluster\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Star_cluster\">star clusters<\/a>&nbsp;nearest to Earth, it is the nearest&nbsp;<a title=\"Messier object\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Messier_object\">Messier object<\/a>&nbsp;to Earth, and is the cluster most obvious to the&nbsp;<a title=\"Naked eye\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Naked_eye\">naked eye<\/a>&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<a title=\"Night sky\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Night_sky\">night sky<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The cluster is dominated by&nbsp;<a title=\"Stellar classification\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stellar_classification#Class_B\">hot blue and luminous stars<\/a>&nbsp;that have formed within the last 100 million years.&nbsp;<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Reflection nebulae\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reflection_nebulae\">Reflection nebulae<\/a>&nbsp;around the brightest stars were once thought to be left over material from their formation, but are now considered likely to be an unrelated dust cloud in the&nbsp;<a title=\"Interstellar medium\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Interstellar_medium\">interstellar medium<\/a>&nbsp;through which the stars are currently passing.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Gibson2003_9-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pleiades#cite_note-Gibson2003-9\">[9]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Computer simulations have shown that the Pleiades were probably formed from a compact configuration that resembled the&nbsp;<a title=\"Orion Nebula\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Orion_Nebula\">Orion Nebula<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Kroupa2001_10-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pleiades#cite_note-Kroupa2001-10\">[10]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;Astronomers estimate that the cluster will survive for about another 250 million years, after which it will disperse due to gravitational interactions with its galactic neighborhood.<sup id=\"cite_ref-Gendler2006_11-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pleiades#cite_note-Gendler2006-11\">[11]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Together with the open star cluster of the&nbsp;<a title=\"Hyades (star cluster)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hyades_(star_cluster)\">Hyades<\/a>, the Pleiades form the&nbsp;<a title=\"Golden Gate of the Ecliptic\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Golden_Gate_of_the_Ecliptic\">Golden Gate of the Ecliptic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\uff08Quote from WikiPedia\uff09<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&gt;&gt;&gt;
