{"id":202,"date":"2019-01-05T11:05:30","date_gmt":"2019-01-05T02:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/astronote.ksgnet.org\/?p=202"},"modified":"2020-06-06T21:34:36","modified_gmt":"2020-06-06T12:34:36","slug":"ic405-and-ic410","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/astronote.ksgnet.org\/index.php\/2019\/01\/05\/ic405-and-ic410\/","title":{"rendered":"IC405 and IC410"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>IC 405<\/b>\u00a0(also known as the\u00a0<b>Flaming Star Nebula<\/b>,\u00a0<b>SH 2-229<\/b>, or\u00a0<b>Caldwell 31<\/b>) is an\u00a0<a title=\"Emission nebula\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emission_nebula\">emission<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Reflection nebula\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reflection_nebula\">reflection nebula<\/a><sup id=\"cite_ref-apod_1-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IC_405#cite_note-apod-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0in the constellation\u00a0<a title=\"Auriga (constellation)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Auriga_(constellation)\">Auriga<\/a>, surrounding the bluish star\u00a0<a title=\"AE Aurigae\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/AE_Aurigae\">AE Aurigae<\/a>. It shines at magnitude +6.0. Its celestial coordinates are RA 05<sup>h<\/sup>\u00a016.2<sup>m<\/sup>\u00a0dec +34\u00b0\u00a028\u2032.<sup id=\"cite_ref-davidd_2-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IC_405#cite_note-davidd-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0It surrounds the irregular variable star\u00a0<a title=\"AE Aurigae\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/AE_Aurigae\">AE Aurigae<\/a>\u00a0and is located near the emission nebula\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"IC 410\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IC_410\">IC 410<\/a>, the open clusters\u00a0<a title=\"Messier 38\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Messier_38\">M38<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Messier 36\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Messier_36\">M36<\/a>, and the K-class star\u00a0<a title=\"Iota Aurigae\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Iota_Aurigae\">Iota Aurigae<\/a>.
